He reported that Superintendent Thomas Payzant
doesn’t want to change the name of the high school without
the support of the community.
Tom provided some school statistics: 19% of students
are residents of South Boston; 78% of last year’s
graduating class went on to further education, earning
almost 1 million dollars in scholarships.

Message from the
President - I would like to take a moment and ask that all
members attempt to make this very important meeting on March
13th. We
have much to discuss and our numbers at the meetings have
been growing smaller. We
cannot get the Association’s business done when so few of
us are in attendance. We
need to make a final decision on an Easter Egg hunt, kick
off the BBQ committee, discuss this spring’s neighborhood
clean up and take your temperature on neighborhood parking.
I look
forward to seeing you all at the meeting and I would like to
ask for maximum DHA Member participation for the two events
scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2003.
